Caravelair 480 SE caravan

Manufactured in France and exclusive to Country RV, is the Caravelair Antarès range of caravans. Here we look at the 480 SE model that offers a generous living area, compact kitchen, separate bedroom with rear full-width bathroom. This is a four-berth model and at 7310mm overall length (6250mm body) it is the biggest in the range. There are multiple other models and layouts in the Caravelair range to meet customers’ needs including the Antarès 455, which is 6410mm total length (5350mm body) and the Antarès 406, a compact bed conversion model at 5510mm total length, (4450mm body).

Based on AL-KO chassis, fitted with AKS 3004 stabilizers that significantly improve the smoothness of a journey and provide the driver with the confidence and control required to handle critical driving situations.

Fully self-contained with roll-away freshwater and grey water tanks, Thetford cassette toilets, full-sized showers, 85L three-way fridge, dual fuel TRIPLEX hob, oven and grill and a Truma Combi 6 water and blown-air heating system operates on gas and electric – features common across the range.

Construction is innovative IRP construction: 29mm XPS roof insulation, 42mm XPS insulation on floor, 30mm XPS insulation on sidewalls achieves a Grade-3 insulation rating.

Lots of modern fixtures and fittings in these 2019 models, USB charging ports, electric control panels, LED lighting, TV-capable units, built to be lightweight and with the habitation door on the popular left passenger side of the vehicle.

Mobilvetta K-Yacht 79 Motorhome

Looking for a luxury A-Class fully integrated motorhome with the habitation door on the left passenger side, then check out the Mobilvetta K-Yacht range from Country RV.

Italian designed and built, they have lots of cool features with under-floor heating, Grade-3 fully insulated, and built using iTech insulating technology, the range is constructed 100 per cent wood free.

Based on the Fiat X290 2.3L 150bhp Euro 6 chassis with automatic gearbox and LED daytime running lights. In the cab a ZENEC DAB radio with touchscreen and rear observation camera system with Bluetooth and USB, ergonomic, swiveling captain-style cab seats.

Lots of sexy marine styling in these models, eco leather with classy cupboard finishes and packed with latest technology controls. This model has 120L freshwater, 110L grey water tanks that are insulated and have an exhaust valve offering anti-freeze protection. Solar panel complements the electrical system. RV Mega

RV Mega, who are based in Mt Maunganui, will be displaying the ADRIA brand 2019 motorhome and caravan models on stand OS43 at the Covi SuperShow.

These models are built in Slovenia, but to Australian and New Zealand specifications to meet the challenges of the different road and usage conditions in these countries. They involve a thicker chassis spec’, habitation door on our ‘kerb’ left side, higher ground clearance and the like, to suit our conditions. Once in New Zealand the vehicles are certified to local requirements with respect to gas, electrical, self-containment, EWOF, registration, etc. There are also upgrades that can be done with diesel heaters, solar power, and locally suitable TV and aerial solutions finalised to the client’s needs.

The brand has plenty of pedigree behind it, being one of the leading RV manufacturers in Europe that has won multiple design and product awards (during 2016 and 2017 in particular) for their motorhomes and caravans.

UCC Dethleffs

UCC Motorhomes will have on display and available a range of island-bed, and single-bed Dethleffs Distinction range motorhomes. The Dethleffs Distinction range are all 2018 models and come with the balance of the Dethleffs and Fiat warranties. They all have approximately 20,000km on them.

These motorhomes all come with automatic satellite dishes, TV/DVDs, solar panel, reversing cameras and external awnings. The low-profile models all come with large garages and an additional electric drop-down bed over the lounge.

The Dethleffs Distinction range comprises motorhomes released from the McRent fleet and will be exclusively available nationwide through UCC.
The 2018-registered motorhomes are based on automatic Fiat Ducatos, and can be driven on a standard car licence. All the low-profile motorhomes run on a WOF.

These motorhomes all have full NZ electrical and gas compliance. They are fully self-contained, they have 142-litre three-way fridges, gas/electric Truma 6E combi heaters, and ovens.

Zion Motorhomes – Dethleffs Pulse Motorhome

The new Pulse range caused the biggest stir at the launch, revealed at a glitzy ceremony, with senior Dethleffs staff presenting details of the thinking behind the design. It took 18 months to complete, and the result is a stunning range of four low-profiles and six A-classes.

Layouts include the compact 6651, featuring a comfortable island bed and drop-down bed over the lounge, as well as the fixed single bed option.

Dethleffs explained to journalists that the concept of light was very much behind the interior design of Pulse. 
A lighting expert, Gabriele Allendorf, was called in: “Usually, light in leisure vehicles is there to help for orientation or safety … But we were concerned with the topic of light [as a] mood barometer, balance-bringer or health factor,” she said. The result is a new, three-level lighting format that features in all Pulse models.

Merit RV

Merit RV from New Plymouth can be found on stand 398. On display will be the latest 2019 model Swift Kon-tiki, Escape, Sterling, Sprite and Bessacarr caravans and motorhomes.

Nathan Butler has been the face of New Plymouth’s Merit RV since the family business opened its doors in 2003.

Merit’s long-established relationship with Swift Group UK enables the company to buy Swift’s

Kon-tiki, Escape, Sterling, Sprite and Bessacarr brands direct. Swift is, of course, the largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles in England, and Merit RV is the exclusive dealer for the Swift Explorer range of caravans and the Swift Voyager range of motorhomes.

“We’ve been dealing with the new Swift products for over 10 years now. It impresses us that Swift spends a lot of money on research and development to refine their product, and to keep them at the top of their game. That certainly gives us the confidence to know we’re dealing with one of the best in the World,” Nathan explains.

Construction methods on Swift RVs are common across the range, offering enhanced SMART Plus construction with GRP body panels which offer:
• Strong, moisture-proof ‘PURe’ Polyurethane timberless framed body shell with polystyrene insulation core
• Balanced panel side walls with GRP outer and inner skin

2019 Swift Caravans
Recently landed are the 2019 Swift Caravan Explorer 580, 645 and 650 models with options of separate bedroom with island bed, single beds and dinette conversions. The freshwater and grey water tanks are fitted; entry door is on the left (kerb) side. GVM weights range from 1250kg up to 2000kg, something to suit all towing capabilities.
