Newly arrived at Country RV in Mt Maunganui are the new range of Adria Adora caravans from the UK, offering models to suit families wanting bunk beds for kids, or couples wanting single beds for themselves. Rob Axton at Country RV tells us these models will tick the boxes for many buyers.

Adria is a company that was established back in 1965 building caravans in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Today they are owned by the French Trigano Group, and export RVs to Western European and UK markets, and of course New Zealand. These Adria Adora models are built in Europe, sent to the UK and then on to New Zealand and Rob’s Country RV Mt Maunganui yard.

The rear full-width bathrooms offer full shower with roof vent, radiator heating to the left, vanity unit with mirrored storage, glass vanity sink, quality fixtures and fittings, storage cupboards below vanity. Cassette toilet out of picture on the left

Talking with Rob about the models, he tells us they are perfect for his customers. Built as fully winterised vehicles for all-year-round use, with different sleeping options and floor plans including family bunk units, single bed, French and island bed options, Rob knows they will cover most Kiwis’ needs.

The Adria brand has won multiple awards over the years including the Gold Award New Caravan Manufacturer – Overall Winner Owner Satisfaction Awards 2018 and 2019, Best Family Twin Axle Adria Adora Sava – Caravan Awards 2019 and Caravan of the Year Awards 2019 for the Adria Adora Sava Caravan. The 10-year water ingress warranty is standard on Adria caravans, plus there is the two-year general warranty that stands behind the product from the manufacturer.

Twin bunks to the right, with individual lights and opening window for each berth. On the left a dinette table seating area, to the mid rear the full-width bathroom

Country RV have four models newly arrived with the five-berth bunk model. This offers a fantastic kids’ area with two bunks on the left and a café-dinette area opposite that converts to a third berth. Brilliant for tucking the kids into their own space to play, take their meals or just relax away from the oldies. The other models are four berth and offer the twin single bed option as well as having a double French bed and the most popular option of all, an island bed.

All mattresses are manufactured by Luxe, offering premium quality comfort and support. Featuring high-resistance foam construction, easy-care fabric and natural protection against bacteria, odours and static.

The island bed layout will be popular. Side drawers and shelf on each side, overhead locker storage with LED strip lighting effects, reading lights and privacy curtain to the rest of the living space. Drawers and wardrobe storage on the wall beside the habitation entrance door

There are some standards in the layouts available. The entertainment/dining area is U-shaped, large and comfortable. There is a brilliant small flip-out table for two to share comfortably in the back, as well as an option for a removable table to be set up for multiple people to sit at for dinner or games. All these models have the most incredible views from this area, with large windows all around, as well as the extra-large Sky-roof panoramic window with its fitted fly screens and blinds giving you options to open up for lots of light, or close down for cosiness. This area can be made up into a large double bed 2120 x 1540mm in size.

The craftsman-built cabinetry throughout is integrated with heating and air flow for optimum thermal efficiency, which sees air being circulated around the internal walls, roof and cabinets to keep everything dry and healthy. Another common feature to these builds is the width of the caravan – depending on the model width can be as much as 2460mm. This adds a lot to the ‘walk-by’ space as I call it – two people can pass by each other in the kitchen or hall area, or even stand around for a chat, in these wider RVs. The habitation door is also wider than usual, and is a split stable-door style with fly-screen, so getting in and out is even easier.

The other double-bed option is the side wall or French bed option. Mattresses are all top-quality Luxe mattresses featuring high-resistance foam construction, easy-care fabric and natural protection against bacteria, odours and static

The kitchens are well spec’d with a combined three-burner gas hob and sink unit inset into the quality bench top, with glass cover and optional sink cover for extra kitchen bench space. Gas oven under bench, pull-out pantry and drawers under bench, overhead lockers for more storage. The 142L tower fridge unit is great. Opposite are more storage drawers and tall cupboard that are nicely styled, on the right wall.

The bathrooms are similar as well, with electric flush pedestal cassette toilet to the left of entry via the sliding door, vanity and storage mid rear and the full-sized shower with small radiator heater on the wall to the right rear corner.

The extra width on these caravans shows right here – check out the walkway space – this is an important aspect for enclosed spaces, making them feel light and not closed in

There is a lot to like in these models: the TV is well placed, monitors, USB chargers, etc. are all in one spot and easily accessed. Storage is well catered for inside, and some exterior storage as well for those outdoor necessities. The variants on the bed setups will be sure to excite a few. Those with vehicles with less than 3000kg towing capacity will be keen to check these out, with the MTPLM on the smallest model being 1700kg and on the larger model 2000kg (this model has motor movers), a very nice weight range for towing. Lengthwise these models start at 6770mm to 6779mm body length, making for a 8240 to 8294mm total towing length. Some of the models come with motor movers and an inflatable porch awning – the team at Country RV will let you know which models that applies to. The contemporary internal finishes are pleasing, and a little bit of luxury in the soft furnishings will please as well.
