An important part of motor sport history, it was built as a community project in 1953 and most of Australia’s best drivers competed there, including Jack Brabham, Bob Jane, Stan Jones and Alex Mildren. Prince Bira of Siam also drove there along with a string of other international drivers.
Gnoo Blas was the venue for the inaugural Australian Touring Car Championship in 1960, now the V8 series, which attracted a field of 50 drivers and a dozen different makes of cars.
The club has about 40 members and has regular monthly runs. It also holds the annual Gnoo Blas Classic car show on the second weekend in February every year.
